That's very very light for such a long wheel base and I assume 6x4? (Proper!)European Volvos with a shorter wheel base would weigh considerably more than this. Most tare around 9500kgs/20.900lbs - and that would be for a 6x2 mid lift or tag axle with just 400 litres of fuel not a 6x4 with such a large amount of fuel. I see the dashboard and much of the interior is strait out of the European Volvo FH range. Regards

Factory weight ticket was 18,700 pounds. Sounds like a lot until you realize that this is the largest sleeper Volvo makes, it has almost every piece of dress up available, the largest fuel tanks, and all of the 2007 (DPF) plus 2010 (SCR) emissions system (which is part of what pushes the tanks back).

One problem I have heard about on the Volvo is the low beam lamps having poor illumination. And that the plastic covers require constant buffing or loose their transparency. I hear a great ride but heavy also which the setback fuel tanks would indicate.

I think this one was in the $150,000 range. It had about every piece of chrome and upgrade possible.

That truck oh thats baby doll joy..she looks like she is really enjoying that brand new international although internationals have always been cheap made..they have somewhat impoved them over the years.and joy had that bad boy strolling on the way to the mill.heck I dont blame her I would have to..jamming gears and turning and burning

This Titan is likely not going to last as long on the US market as it has here in Australia, where the Titan has been in use, in one form or another, since about 1991 in heavy haul and road train service, going through conditions that routinely destroy US and European trucks. Hopefully MACK had the brains to keep the Aussie designed Titan under all the flash and plastic.

@KLsemperFi7 i meant in regards to styling, it really does scream Granite's styling cues, however, I'm interested, can you tell me what the significant differences, mainly advantages and disadvantages this truck as compare to say a Granite? the ups and downs of both, based on your experience and exposure? Im interested, and thanks!

@KLsemperFi7 - Not quite. We also sell the Mack Granite and the 114SD has plenty of differences. Both are tough trucks, but a Mack is still a Mack. It's like comparing an iphone to a driod. They are both phones and do very similar things, but the inner workings (what most don't ever see) is where the difference is. We sell six major brands because we understand that every job, customer, application requires something different.

I have done shows with Kelvin from Outkast Kustoms, the original Trick My Truck shop, and he loves the LoneStar. He said that he could air bag the suspension and build a custom bumper and grill no problem. There are LoneStar fire trucks, wreckers, motor homes, etc. All you need is an Imagination & Money just like all the other trucks.

Why? It looks like every other big hood truck ever made. A giant brick on wheels. Can you tell them apart without the manufacturer emblems? Nope. Get in a LoneStar and try to fuel up in less than 20 minutes at a truck stop. Everyone wants to see it, take photos, talk to you. We had a lady follow us for 10 miles just so she could take a picture when we hit the truck stop.

We can't all be giant bricks rolling down the highway. KW & Pete are like Porshe. Same body style, nothing really new and exciting. Look at silhouette photos of every year model and you won't be able to tell which is which.

Hopefully we will be able to start ordering LoneStar's again soon with International's new muscled up version of the MaxxForce 13L and then by early next year the new monster MaxxForce 15L based on CAT's old C-15 workhorse.

I hope this answers some questions. Yes, there is plenty of safety equipment in the truck. The track is not 1/4 mile it is 1/8 mile. If Joy could pull a 7 in a 1/4 mile she would racing that truck NHRA. No, this was not set up. If it was don't you think Joy would have won the money? Yes, we had a great time. Yes, we are doing it again in 2011. Yes, Swamp Loggers will have another season.

if international had any sense at all they would lone that truck to goodson until the show is over the best advertising there is but like always the bean counters will say no to that but will spend one million on some dumbass commercial
